Same-Day Water Damage Restoration

IICRC Certified Firm • Free walkthrough • We work with all insurance

Need water damage restoration in Southeast Michigan? We cover Oakland, Macomb, St. Clair, Wayne and Lapeer counties, and our line is answered 24 hours a day. Call and we are usually on site in about an hour, so the damage stops spreading.

Our Process

Our water damage restoration process

First we answer the call and get moving. Our response time is typically about an hour, and the walkthrough is free.

Then we scope it with you. We explain what we are seeing and what comes next before any work starts, and we build containment where the job needs it. Every piece of equipment is cleaned and decontaminated before it comes into your home.

From there we remove what has to come out and set air movers, dehumidifiers and HEPA air scrubbers. Most structures dry within two to four days. We return every day to take moisture readings and adjust the equipment, and the readings decide when the equipment leaves.

Then we handle the paperwork. We document the loss with photos, moisture readings and scope notes. If you have filed a claim, we send our invoice to both you and your insurance company. We also talk with your insurance company, your plumber and the other trades on the job.

Finally we rebuild. Our reconstruction team can put the property back together, so you can deal with one company from the first call to the last coat of paint. If you would rather use your own contractor for the rebuild, that is fine with us. Financing is available if you need it.

We found out we had a water leak from our bathroom tub when we brought our newborn home this past winter. It unfortunately needed to be a complete restoration which my husband and I had never gone through before. We were paired with Michelle as our project manager during this.

When purchasing our home, the inspector discovered suspect areas in the attic that were potentially mold. I called Response Flood and Fire to take a look at the attic and a project manager came out same day. He was thorough, looking at not only the specified areas but also the whole attic as well. Thankfully,...

Our restoration project took several months to complete. If you’re going through an insurance claim, be patient, as the process itself can take time. Dandre, who inspected the damage, prepared the estimate, and worked with our insurance company, was knowledgeable, professional, and very helpful throughout the...

Same story as at least one other reviewer. Our ice maker water line started leaking and created a bigger mess than we realized. Our plumber recommended Response Flood & Fire for mitigation, and they were out the very next day drying out our kitchen floor and basement ceiling. Austin and Clayton were both amazing to...

Why us

Why homeowners call us first for water damage restoration

Most of our water calls start with a plumbing failure

Burst pipes, leaking ice maker lines and overflowing washing machines cause more of our calls than the weather does. Water from a failure like that rarely stays in the room where it started. It follows the framing down to the floor below, so we check the whole path before we plan the drying.

The first 24 to 48 hours count

The EPA advises drying water-damaged areas and items within 24 to 48 hours to prevent mold growth. That is why someone answers our line at any hour, including weekends and holidays.

We read the building the way a builder does

Wet drywall is the part you can see. The framing, subfloor and insulation behind it decide how big the job really is. Because we rebuild as well as dry, we check those first, then tell you what can be dried in place and what has to come out.

An IICRC Certified Firm with thousands of claims a year

We have handled everything from a slow leak behind a dishwasher to a flooded basement. For most homeowners this is a first claim, so we walk you through each step as it comes.

“When purchasing our home, the inspector discovered suspect areas in the attic that were potentially mold. I called Response Flood and Fire to take a look at the attic and a project manager came out same day. He was thorough, looking at not only the specified areas but also the whole attic as well. Thankfully, he was able to identify the spots in the attic to be staining, not mold, and everything else checked out good as well. He sprayed the attic areas with anti-microbial to clean them up. He also took it upon himself to use a moisture reader to check around the toilets, sinks, and other areas water damage can likely occur to be sure there were no underlying issues. The prices were reasonable and we felt confident in their expertise to continue the purchase of our home.”

FAQs

Common questions about water damage restoration

Questions we get from our customers' and our answers.

Do you handle water damage restoration across Southeast Michigan?

Yes. We cover Oakland, Macomb, St. Clair, Wayne and Lapeer counties. Our line is answered 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Tell us what happened and we will talk you through what to do first.

How soon can someone get here?

Call our 24-hour line and we will get moving. Our response time is typically about an hour. Water and smoke do more damage the longer they sit, so the sooner we hear from you, the more of the property we can save.

What should I do before anyone gets here?

Safety comes first. If water is near outlets or an electrical panel, stay out of that room. For a water loss, shut off the water supply if you can reach the valve safely. After a fire, stay out until the fire department says it is safe to go back in. Do not turn the heating or air conditioning back on, because moving air spreads soot. If you suspect sewage, mold or asbestos, keep people and pets away and leave the material alone until we have seen it. Then report the loss to your insurance company.

Will my insurance cover this?

Every claim is different, and coverage is your insurance company's decision. We handle thousands of claims a year, so there are very few situations we have not seen. Call us early and we will explain how the process works and what your insurance company is likely to ask for. We document the loss as we work, so you have the records the claim needs.

What does water damage restoration cost?

It depends on how much of the property is affected, how long the damage sat before it was found, and which materials are involved. The cost cannot be predicted without a thorough inspection, and we will walk you through it once we have seen the damage.
