Same-Day Water Damage Restoration in Southeast Michigan
IICRC Certified Firm • Free inspection • All Insurance Accepted
Where can you get water damage restoration in Southeast Michigan right now? A pipe let go behind the wall, the water heater leaked across the basement, or the washer flooded the laundry room. Phone us at any hour to book a free inspection; our crew gets there in about an hour.
Our water damage restoration process
Before we arrive, turn off the water at the main shutoff if you can reach it safely, and switch off the breaker for any room where water touches outlets or cords. Then call us; someone answers at every hour.
At the free inspection we follow the water from where it started to where it ended up, using moisture meters on walls, floors and the ceiling below. We photograph each wet area, so the insurance file starts on day one.
Water extraction comes next. We pull standing water out of carpet and off hard floors, then take out materials that will not dry well, such as swollen baseboard or soaked pad. You see what is leaving and why before it goes.
Structural drying follows. Air movers and dehumidifiers run while we return each day to take readings, and the readings, not a calendar, decide when the equipment leaves. Most homes dry in two to four days.
Last, our reconstruction crew puts back the drywall, trim and flooring, so one company carries the job from the wet floor to the finished room. Our invoice and records go to you and your insurer, and the insurer is asked to pay us directly.

We found out we had a water leak from our bathroom tub when we brought our newborn home this past winter. It unfortunately needed to be a complete restoration which my husband and I had never gone through before. We were paired with Michelle as our project manager during this.

Response came out to our house when we had water issues with our attic and potential mold growth. They dispatched a project manager to came out same day and provided advice regarding insurance, let us know what to expect for the work, and sent a crew out the next day. Everything moved quickly and smoothly...

Why homeowners call us for water damage restoration
Most of our water calls start with a plumbing failure
Burst pipes, leaking ice maker lines and overflowing washing machines cause more of our calls than the weather does. Water from a failure like that rarely stays in the room where it started. It follows the framing down to the floor below, so we check the whole path before we plan the drying.
The first 24 to 48 hours count
The EPA advises drying water-damaged areas and items within 24 to 48 hours to prevent mold growth. That is why someone answers our line at any hour, including weekends and holidays.
We check behind the drywall, not just the stain
Wet drywall is the part you can see. The framing, subfloor and insulation behind it decide how big the job really is. Because we rebuild as well as dry, we check those first, then tell you what can be dried in place and what has to come out.
Certified for water damage and drying
We're an IICRC Certified Firm, certified for water damage restoration and structural drying. For most homeowners this is a first claim, so we explain each step as it comes and work directly with your insurance company, whichever one insures you.

Our ice maker water line started leaking and created a bigger mess than we realized. Our plumber recommended Response Flood & Fire for mitigation, and they were out the very next day drying out our kitchen floor and basement ceiling.

Water damage restoration questions
Questions we get from our customers' and our answers.
Does homeowners insurance cover water damage?
It often covers water damage that is sudden and accidental, such as a burst pipe or a failed supply line. Damage from a slow leak over months, or water that came in from outside, is often treated differently. Your policy and your adjuster decide, and only you, as the policyholder, can file the claim.
How long does it take to dry out a house?
Most structures dry within two to four days once the standing water is out. Thick materials like hardwood, plaster or a concrete slab can take longer. We check moisture every day, and the equipment comes out when the readings say the structure is dry, not on a set date.
Can I stay home while the drying equipment runs?
Usually, if the water was clean and the rooms you live in are dry. The fans and dehumidifiers are loud and warm the air, so a bedroom next to the work can be hard to sleep in. If the water was dirty or someone at home has breathing problems, we may suggest staying elsewhere.
Do I have to wait for the adjuster before you start?
No. Your policy expects you to protect the home from further damage, and wet materials keep breaking down while they sit. We photograph and measure everything before work begins, so the adjuster sees what we found. If anyone tells you to hold off, call us.
How much does water damage restoration cost?
We can't give a number until we've seen it, because the size of the job depends on how far the water traveled and what it soaked. We bill time and materials following the IICRC S500 standard, priced from a recent Xactimate list. Paying out of pocket? Financing is available.
