What we do

Which service do you need?

Water, fire, smoke, storm, mold and asbestos work across Southeast Michigan. Pick the service you need, or call the 24 hour line and we will work out what you are dealing with.

Why us

Why Southeast Michigan homeowners choose Response Flood & Fire

Our founders came out of construction, contracting and cleaning. That is why we look at a flooded basement or a smoke-filled kitchen the way a builder does, reading what the water or soot has done behind the drywall rather than only what you can see.

We started this company because people going through a property loss need more than the mess cleaned up. They need someone to tell them what is happening and what comes next.

Our line is answered 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and we are typically on site in about an hour.

We start with a free inspection. What we will not do is hand you a final number at the door, because until the wall is open nobody knows what is behind it. Restoration is peeling back an onion, and anyone who quotes an exact figure before that has guessed.

We invoice your carrier directly and ask them to pay us directly, and we stay in the conversation with your adjuster. If anyone tells you that you have to use one of the carrier's preferred vendors, that is not true. When you hire us, we are working for you.

Our restoration project took several months to complete. If you’re going through an insurance claim, be patient, as the process itself can take time. Dandre, who inspected the damage, prepared the estimate, and worked with our insurance company, was knowledgeable, professional, and very helpful throughout the...

We found out we had a water leak from our bathroom tub when we brought our newborn home this past winter. It unfortunately needed to be a complete restoration which my husband and I had never gone through before. We were paired with Michelle as our project manager/overseer during this. I have nothing but amazing...

Same story as at least one other reviewer. Our ice maker water line started leaking and created a bigger mess than we realized. Our plumber recommended Response Flood & Fire for mitigation, and they were out the very next day drying out our kitchen floor and basement ceiling. Austin and Clayton were both amazing to...

Wonderful experience during such a stressful time. They came out immediately, the employees were extremely polite and respectful, and kept me updated every step of the way. They also helped guide me through the insurance claims process which seemed overwhelming at first. I would definitely recommend.

The water line to our ice maker burst and caused a huge mess. Once the plumber discovered where the leak was, he recommended Response Flood & Fire for mitigation. They responded FAST and had dryers going for the floor in our kitchen and basement. Austin was our Mitigation Project Manager, he and everyone on his...

I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with this company. We had significant flooding after a plumbing repair job went wildly wrong over the weekend. Ryan and Mike did an excellent job, start to finish, in remediating the damage. They were very responsive, professional, and definitely know their...

Communities we serve across Southeast Michigan

We run crews across Oakland, Macomb, St. Clair, Wayne and Lapeer counties, from Detroit and Warren out to Port Huron and Lapeer. We are based in Rochester Hills, which keeps most of this territory inside an hour's drive. Michigan weather drives most of this work, from frozen and burst pipes in winter to spring thaw, heavy rain and summer storm flooding. Older neighbourhoods bring their own version of it, with clay laterals and combined sewers that push water back up through a basement floor drain when a storm outruns the system. We work on houses, apartment buildings and commercial property, and the line is answered every hour of the year. Tell us where you are and we will tell you how fast we can be there.

FAQs

Answers To Common Questions

Questions we get from our customers' and our answers.

What areas do you cover?

We cover Oakland, Macomb, St. Clair, Wayne and Lapeer counties. Our line is answered 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Tell us what happened and we will talk you through what to do first.

How soon can someone get here?

Call the 24 hour line and we will get moving. Response is typically about an hour. Water and smoke cause more damage the longer they sit, so the sooner we hear from you, the more of the property we can save.

What should I do before anyone gets there?

Safety comes first. If water is standing near outlets or an electrical panel, stay out of that room. For a water loss, shut off the source if you can reach it. For fire and smoke, leave windows and the HVAC alone, because moving air spreads soot. Photograph everything before you move or throw out anything.

Will my insurance cover this?

That is your carrier's decision, and it comes down to your policy and your deductible. We walk you through the process and give you the documentation to hand your adjuster. Photograph the damage before anything gets cleaned up or hauled away, and keep a list of what was affected.

What will it cost?

It depends on how much of the property is affected, how long the damage sat before it was found, and which materials are involved. We will not put a number on it without seeing it in person.
