Same-Day Storm Damage Restoration in Southeast Michigan
IICRC Certified Firm • Free inspection • All Insurance Accepted
Who can help with storm damage restoration in Southeast Michigan tonight? A tree limb came through a window, rain is dripping through the ceiling, or wind tore open the siding. Call our 24-hour line for a free inspection, and we can be there in about an hour.
How our storm damage restoration works
Safety first: stay clear of downed power lines and report them to the utility, and keep out of rooms where the ceiling sags. Put buckets under drips and move what you can out of the way, then call us.
When we arrive, we close the openings. Broken windows and doors get emergency board-ups so the next round of rain stays outside. Damage to the roof itself is a job for your roofer, and we keep in touch with them so both jobs line up.
Next we work out how the water got in. Wind-driven rain through a storm-made opening and ground water rising into the basement are handled differently by most policies, so we photograph the path the water took.
Then we extract standing water, open soaked ceilings and walls where needed, and dry the structure. Wet insulation above a ceiling usually has to come out, because it holds water against the drywall and framing long after the storm.
Finally, our crew rebuilds the ceilings, walls and floors inside the house, and our invoice and documentation go to you and your insurer with a request that the insurer pay us directly. Financing covers what the policy won't.

We found out we had a water leak from our bathroom tub when we brought our newborn home this past winter. It unfortunately needed to be a complete restoration which my husband and I had never gone through before. We were paired with Michelle as our project manager during this.

Response came out to our house when we had water issues with our attic and potential mold growth. They dispatched a project manager to came out same day and provided advice regarding insurance, let us know what to expect for the work, and sent a crew out the next day. Everything moved quickly and smoothly...

Why homeowners call us for storm damage restoration
Your roofer fixes the roof, and we handle the inside
When a storm opens the roof or breaks a window, rain gets into ceilings, walls and insulation. A roofer repairs the roof itself. We handle what the water did inside, from extraction and drying to the rebuild, and we keep in touch with your roofer so the two jobs line up.
We board up windows and doors
Wind and falling limbs can leave a window or door open to the weather. We handle emergency board-ups, so the house is closed up while the rest of the work is planned. We answer the phone on the nights the storms roll through, too.
Michigan storms bring water in every season
Spring brings heavy rain and thaw, summer brings storm flooding, and winter brings ice dams that push meltwater under shingles and into ceilings. Each one gets water inside by a different route. We have seen water come in every one of those ways.
We check above the ceiling stain
A ceiling stain after a storm is only the visible end of the path the water took. Water can sit in the insulation above it and in the framing around it. We find that water and dry or remove what it soaked, because mold can start on framing and drywall that stay damp.

Our ice maker water line started leaking and created a bigger mess than we realized. Our plumber recommended Response Flood & Fire for mitigation, and they were out the very next day drying out our kitchen floor and basement ceiling.

Storm damage questions
Questions we get from our customers' and our answers.
Do you repair roofs?
No, we are not roofers. A roofer repairs the roof itself, and we handle what the storm water did inside: extraction, drying and rebuilding ceilings, walls and floors. We also board up broken windows and doors. If you don't have a roofer yet, call one at the same time you call us.
Is storm water damage covered by insurance?
Rain that blows in through an opening the storm made, such as a broken window or a hole from a fallen limb, is often covered under a standard policy. Water that rises from the ground or flows in from outside usually needs separate flood coverage. Your adjuster decides, so we document how the water entered.
What should I do right after a storm damages my house?
Check that everyone is safe and stay away from downed lines. Take photos and video of the damage outside and inside before anything is moved or cleaned. Catch drips in buckets, move valuables to a dry room, and don't climb onto the roof. Then call your insurer and us.
Can a fallen tree cause damage I can't see?
Yes. A tree that hits the house can crack framing, pull siding loose and break the seals around windows, letting water into the wall cavity long after the storm passes. We look inside the walls and ceilings near the impact and record what we find for your claim.
How fast can you board up a broken window?
We're usually on site in about an hour, day or night, and a board-up is one of the first things we do when a window or door is open to the weather. It keeps rain and animals out and protects the house until the glass can be replaced.
