Why Macomb County homeowners call us first for fire damage cleanup
About an hour to most Macomb County addresses
A person answers our phone, day or night, weekend or holiday. We do not run calls through a service. Most addresses in Macomb County are about an hour from us. That hour is worth having, because smoke keeps spreading through a building after the fire service leaves, and every hour it sits it works further into porous material.
We look at it for free before anything is signed
The first walkthrough is free and there is no form waiting at the end of it. We tell you what we can see and what we suspect is behind it. What you will not get from us is a firm price at the curb. Fire damage does not reveal itself until surfaces come open and get cleaned, so an early number would only be a guess.
We work with your adjuster directly
Where a claim is open we document the loss for the file and give your adjuster what they need, and you get the same detail they do. We stay in contact with your adjuster and with the plumbers and other trades involved. If a claims specialist steers you toward a preferred vendor, you can say no. You are the one hiring.
Based a short drive away
We work out of Rochester Hills, a short drive from the county line, and we have been doing this a long time. The founders spent their careers in construction, contracting and cleaning before starting the business, and that shows on a fire job. We read what the heat did to the structure, not only what the smoke did to the paint.
We know how different one end of this county is from the other
Macomb County does not have one kind of house. The southern cities are packed with postwar ranches on full basements. The middle townships are newer subdivisions, with open plans and attached garages. The north end is farmland and older homes on acreage. Each of those behaves differently in a fire, and we scope the job to the building in front of us.

We found out we had a water leak from our bathroom tub when we brought our newborn home this past winter. It unfortunately needed to be a complete restoration which my husband and I had never gone through before. We were paired with Michelle as our project manager/overseer during this. I have nothing but amazing...

Same story as at least one other reviewer. Our ice maker water line started leaking and created a bigger mess than we realized. Our plumber recommended Response Flood & Fire for mitigation, and they were out the very next day drying out our kitchen floor and basement ceiling. Austin and Clayton were both amazing to...

I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with this company. We had significant flooding after a plumbing repair job went wildly wrong over the weekend. Our fire damage repair process in Macomb County, MI
Step 1. A person takes your call
Our phone is answered around the clock, every day of the year. We ask what happened, whether the fire service has cleared the property and what condition it is in. You will have something practical to do before we get off the phone. A crew is sent straight away, and most Macomb County addresses are about an hour out.
Step 2. We look at it with you, at no charge
Before any work starts we go through the property together. The visit is free and you sign nothing for it. We describe what the fire and the smoke have done, where we think the damage carries on out of sight, and what we would do about it. You are not agreeing to anything by having us look.
Step 3. Securing what is left standing
We board up and cover the openings so the building is closed. Windows, doors, and anything cut into the roof. We also make sure the structure is safe for people to work in. An open building keeps taking damage after the fire, and there is no reason to let that happen.
Step 4. The structure gets cleaned and dried
Then we work on the building. Soot and residue come off surfaces that can be saved, and material that cannot be saved is taken out. We handle the structure, not the contents, so belongings are referred to a contents company. Putting a fire out puts water into the building, so we find it and dry the structure before mold takes hold. Equipment is cleaned and decontaminated before it goes in, and crews work four to eight hours on a site day.
Step 5. Invoicing and your adjuster
Pricing comes from a current Xactimate list, which is what most carriers work from, so your adjuster sees familiar lines. Invoices are issued three to five business days after completion and payment is due within thirty days. If there is a claim, we document everything the adjuster needs and stay in the loop with them until the file closes. GreenSky financing is available if the timing is awkward.

“Our restoration project took several months to complete. If you’re going through an insurance claim, be patient, as the process itself can take time. Dandre, who inspected the damage, prepared the estimate, and worked with our insurance company, was knowledgeable, professional, and very helpful throughout the process. Michelle, our project manager, was always responsive, caring, and worked hard to make sure everything was done right. The restoration work was completed by Leo and Augie, and they were outstanding. Leo replaced our tile, completed the plumbing work, repaired our closet organizer, and paid close attention to every detail. Augie did an excellent job painting. They were respectful, hardworking, and treated our home as if it were their own. Overall, although the process took time, the final result was excellent. Thank you, Dandre, Michelle, Leo, and Augie, for your professionalism, dedication, and quality work!”

Common questions about fire damage restoration in Macomb County, MI
Questions we get from our customers' and our answers.
How fast can you reach an address in Macomb County?
Most Macomb County addresses are about an hour from us, and a person answers our phone every hour of the year. Do not wait for the adjuster before you call. Smoke keeps moving through a building after the fire is out, and soot marks porous surfaces more the longer it stays on them. Getting started early protects more of the house.
What happens to our things after a fire in Macomb County?
Belongings are not our department. We restore the structure and we are not a contents company, so cleaning, packing out or storing your possessions goes to a firm that does that work. We will happily point you to one. In the meantime, photograph everything before it is moved, because that record is useful to your claim.
Do you board up properties across Macomb County?
Yes, anywhere in the county. Board-up is usually the first thing we carry out, because a fire tends to leave a building open at the windows, the doors and sometimes the roof. We close those openings so weather and unwanted visitors stay out. The rest of the job is planned once the property is secure.
Can our insurance company make us use their contractor in Macomb County?
No. You decide who works on your property. A vendor sent by the carrier is contracted to the carrier, and that is a different relationship from the one you have with a company you hired yourself. We document the loss for your claim and give your adjuster the paperwork they need, we send you the same, and we keep your adjuster in the loop from start to finish.
What does the free inspection cover in Macomb County?
It covers a proper look at the property with you, room by room, with an explanation of what we are seeing and what we expect to find behind the surfaces. There is no charge and no paperwork. It does not come with a final price, because the true extent of a fire loss only becomes visible once surfaces are opened and cleaned.
