Why Wixom homeowners call us first for fire damage cleanup
We are on site in about an hour
You will get a person on our phone at any hour, on any day, all year. No recorded message and nothing held over until the office opens. Western Oakland County is part of the area we cover, and about an hour is the usual time between your call and our arrival. After a fire that hour is worth having, because soot does not stop damaging surfaces when the flames stop.
The inspection is free and there is nothing to sign
We come out, walk the building with you and charge nothing for it, and no paperwork is put in front of you first. What we will not do is name a final price while standing outside. A fire keeps its own extent hidden until surfaces are opened up and cleaned, so an exact figure quoted at that stage is guesswork dressed up as a quote.
We deal with your adjuster directly
The documentation side is ours to carry, so it is your carrier we send the photos, the moisture readings and the scope notes to, and you get the same file so nothing is out of view. We talk to your adjuster and to any plumbers or trades on the job, rather than making you pass messages back and forth. Carriers sometimes press their preferred vendors on you. That is a preference on their side, not an obligation on yours.
Local, and this work is not new to us
We work out of Rochester Hills, and Wixom sits inside the area we serve. Construction, contracting and cleaning are where the founders spent their working lives before this company started. That background does real work on a fire, where the damage that decides the job is behind the surface rather than on it. We say plainly what has to be removed.
We know the housing stock here
Wixom is a mix. A small older core sits by the original part of the city, most of the housing went up from the seventies onward, and a good share of it is apartments and condominiums rather than single houses, alongside the commercial and light industrial buildings on the business side of town. The newer houses tend toward open plans, two-story spaces and long duct runs, which gives smoke room to move and routes to follow. In a multi unit building smoke crosses the unit line through shared walls and mechanical shafts. We look at what we are dealing with before we decide how to clean it.

We found out we had a water leak from our bathroom tub when we brought our newborn home this past winter. It unfortunately needed to be a complete restoration which my husband and I had never gone through before. We were paired with Michelle as our project manager/overseer during this. I have nothing but amazing...

Same story as at least one other reviewer. Our ice maker water line started leaking and created a bigger mess than we realized. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with this company. We had significant flooding after a plumbing repair job went wildly wrong over the weekend. Our fire damage repair process in Wixom, MI
Step 1. You call and a person answers
Whatever time it is, a person takes your call. We will ask what caught, whether the fire service is done and whether everyone is clear of the building, then talk you through what to do while we are on the way. A crew is dispatched straight away, and about an hour later we are with you.
Step 2. We walk it with you, free
The walkthrough is free and nothing is signed to arrange one. We go through the building with you, including the areas the fire never reached, because smoke will have traveled well past the flames. You will see what we found and understand the scope before any work begins.
Step 3. We secure the property
Fire leaves a building open, and so does getting the fire service into it. Openings are boarded, exposed sections are covered, and we do not start in any area until it is safe to enter. Where it is warranted we build containment, so soot and dust are held in one part of the building instead of drifting into the rest.
Step 4. We clean the structure and deal with the water
Water is the second problem after a fire, because a lot of it went in to put the fire out. It works its way into subfloor, drywall and insulation and settles there, wearing on the structure and creating the conditions mold needs. We draw the water off and dry the building as we clean it. Soot is acidic, so time works against any porous surface it has settled on. No air mover, dehumidifier or scrubber goes into the building until it has been cleaned and decontaminated. Whatever cannot be brought back is removed, with the reasoning explained first. Our scope is the building itself. The contents are not ours to clean. That goes to a company dedicated to it, and we can steer you toward one.
Step 5. Paperwork, and your claim
We photograph and document the work from the first visit through to completion. We price against a current Xactimate list, the one carriers tend to use, and four to eight hours is a normal day for a crew on site. The invoice follows three to five business days after we finish, with payment due inside thirty days. If there is a claim we document everything the carrier needs and stay with your adjuster until it is closed out. Ask us about GreenSky financing if you need to spread the cost.

“Our restoration project took several months to complete. If you’re going through an insurance claim, be patient, as the process itself can take time. Dandre, who inspected the damage, prepared the estimate, and worked with our insurance company, was knowledgeable, professional, and very helpful throughout the process. Michelle, our project manager, was always responsive, caring, and worked hard to make sure everything was done right. The restoration work was completed by Leo and Augie, and they were outstanding. Leo replaced our tile, completed the plumbing work, repaired our closet organizer, and paid close attention to every detail. Augie did an excellent job painting. They were respectful, hardworking, and treated our home as if it were their own. Overall, although the process took time, the final result was excellent. Thank you, Dandre, Michelle, Leo, and Augie, for your professionalism, dedication, and quality work!”

Common questions about fire damage restoration in Wixom, MI
Questions we get from our customers' and our answers.
How soon can you be at a Wixom address after a fire?
Our line is answered by a person every hour of every day, and about an hour is our normal arrival time in Wixom. There is no reason to wait for your adjuster before you call. Soot goes to work on porous surfaces the instant the fire is out, and nothing about the night slows it. Call as soon as the fire service says the building is safe.
Our Wixom house is newer and open plan. Does that make the smoke damage worse?
It makes it more widespread. An open plan with a two-story space gives smoke very little to slow it down, and heat pushes it upward and outward through the whole floor. Long duct runs in newer houses give it a second route into rooms well away from the fire. The smoke then soaks into carpet, drywall and insulation, which is why a room that was never touched can still smell weeks later.
We had a fire in a commercial building in Wixom. Do you work on those?
We do. What changes on a commercial job is usually the scale, the access, and how quickly you need parts of the building usable again. We walk it with you at no charge and tell you what we are seeing before anything starts. As with a house, we restore the structure itself and refer contents work out to a company that specializes in it.
The fire department left water throughout our Wixom home. Is that separate?
No, we roll it into the same job. The volume of water needed to stop a fire is considerable, and the building holds on to most of it rather than letting it drain. Left in place it carries on harming the structure, and mold is the usual next chapter. We extract it and dry the building while we work on the fire damage.
Do you work with our insurance company on a Wixom fire loss?
Yes. We send your carrier the documentation the claim needs, the photos, the moisture readings and the scope notes, and you receive the same file so you can read every line. Your adjuster and the other trades on the job come through us. The claim itself is yours to file, because the policy is in your name. If the carrier pays less than the scope calls for, we will show you where and keep working it.
