Why Mount Clemens homeowners call us first for fire damage cleanup
Through the door in about an hour
Our line is answered every hour of every day, holidays included. You get a person, not a recording and not a message taken for the morning. Mount Clemens is a short run for us, and an hour is about what it takes us to get there. Soot keeps moving through a house after the fire is out. The sooner we are through the door, the less of the property it reaches.
The inspection costs nothing and binds you to nothing
We go through the property alongside you, free, and with no obligation attached. What we will not do is call out a final figure while we are standing in your driveway. On a fire loss the real extent stays hidden until the walls are opened and the surfaces washed. Soot works into wall cavities, ductwork and the back sides of trim. Anyone who hands you an exact total before that has guessed at it.
Your adjuster deals with us
Your adjuster receives our documentation of the loss, the photos, the moisture readings and the scope notes. You receive the same document, so every line is in front of you. We talk to your adjuster, your electrician and any other trade on the job. That keeps you out of the middle. If someone tells you the claim requires one of their preferred vendors, that is not correct. You choose who works in your house.
Local, and we have been at this a long time
We are based in Rochester Hills, a short run from here. Our founders spent their working lives in construction, contracting and cleaning before they started it. That shows on a fire job. We read what the heat and the smoke have done to framing, plaster and subfloor, not only what shows on the surface. Then we say plainly what has to come out.
An old city, and it builds like one
Mount Clemens has been the seat of Macomb County since 1818, and it was a mineral bath resort of national reputation until that industry faded around the Second World War. The neighborhoods around downtown and the county building still hold nineteenth century houses, Victorians and bungalows built after the First World War, on tree shaded streets. Plaster walls, old wiring and open framing cavities come with houses of that age. Smoke uses all of it to travel well past the room the fire started in, so a back bedroom can look untouched and still hold the smell.

We found out we had a water leak from our bathroom tub when we brought our newborn home this past winter. It unfortunately needed to be a complete restoration which my husband and I had never gone through before. We were paired with Michelle as our project manager/overseer during this. I have nothing but amazing...

Our fire damage repair process in Mount Clemens, MI
Step 1. A person takes your call
Call us at any hour and someone picks up. We ask what caught fire, whether the fire service has cleared the building and whether anyone is still inside. Then we tell you what to leave alone until we get there, and we dispatch. Do not wait for your adjuster to call you back first. An hour is the normal arrival time in Mount Clemens.
Step 2. The free walkthrough
The first thing we do at the property is walk it with you. That costs nothing and you sign nothing for it. We show you where the smoke has gone and which materials took heat. You will know the scope before anyone starts. We do need a signed work authorization before the work itself begins.
Step 3. We secure the property
A fire damaged house is open to the weather and to anyone walking past. We board up windows and doors, cover openings in the roof and shut off what needs shutting off. We also mark off anything that is not safe to walk into. This step happens early, because a building that sits open takes on a second round of damage.
Step 4. Cleaning the structure, drying the water
Then we work on the building itself. We clean the structure and remove the materials that took too much heat to stay. The water the fire service put in while knocking the fire down is ours to deal with as well. That water soaks into walls and framing, and it turns into a mold problem within days if nobody looks for it. Every air mover and dehumidifier is cleaned and decontaminated before it comes through your door. A crew is normally there four to eight hours on the days it works. We restore the structure. Contents are outside our scope, so if your belongings need attention we refer that work out.
Step 5. Paperwork and your claim
We photograph and document the job from the first walkthrough onward. We price off a current Xactimate list, the one most carriers work from, so every line has something behind it. The invoice reaches you three to five business days after the job is finished. Thirty days to pay it. If a claim is open we hand your adjuster the documentation the claim needs, and we stay in the conversation with them until it is settled. Financing through GreenSky is there if the timing is hard.

“Our restoration project took several months to complete. If you’re going through an insurance claim, be patient, as the process itself can take time. Dandre, who inspected the damage, prepared the estimate, and worked with our insurance company, was knowledgeable, professional, and very helpful throughout the process. Michelle, our project manager, was always responsive, caring, and worked hard to make sure everything was done right. The restoration work was completed by Leo and Augie, and they were outstanding. Leo replaced our tile, completed the plumbing work, repaired our closet organizer, and paid close attention to every detail. Augie did an excellent job painting. They were respectful, hardworking, and treated our home as if it were their own. Overall, although the process took time, the final result was excellent. Thank you, Dandre, Michelle, Leo, and Augie, for your professionalism, dedication, and quality work!”

Common questions about fire damage restoration in Mount Clemens, MI
Questions we get from our customers' and our answers.
How fast can you reach a Mount Clemens address after a fire?
Our phone is answered at any hour of the day or night, every day of the year. About an hour is the usual arrival time in Mount Clemens. Soot does not stop moving when the fire goes out. It keeps drifting through the house, settling on cooler surfaces and staining porous materials the longer it sits. Call as soon as the fire service releases the building, even if the damage looks small from where you are standing.
Why does my Mount Clemens house still smell when the fire was in one room?
Because smoke does not stay where the fire was. It follows air, so it moves up stairwells, through wall cavities and along the heating and cooling runs into rooms the flames never touched. Older Mount Clemens houses have plenty of open framing and old ductwork for it to travel through. Heat also drives odor down into plaster, wood and soft materials, which is why a room can look clean and still smell weeks later. That is a treatment problem, not a scrubbing problem.
The fire department soaked my Mount Clemens house. Is that a separate problem?
It is a second problem on top of the first one, and it needs handling at the same time. Water used to knock a fire down goes into walls, insulation and subfloor, and it does not drain out on its own. Left alone it can turn into mold within days. We look for it during the walkthrough and deal with it as part of the same job. You are not left calling a second company a week later.
Can you clean the belongings in my Mount Clemens home?
No, and we would rather tell you that up front. We are a restoration company for the structure. Contents are a different trade. We clean and repair the building itself, including the surfaces, framing and finishes that took smoke and heat. Furniture, clothing and personal items are different work with different handling, so we refer that out to a company that does it. We will point you in the right direction during the walkthrough.
How is a fire damage job in Mount Clemens priced?
We charge time and materials, priced from a current Xactimate list. That is the pricing most carriers use. That means the invoice reflects the hours worked, the equipment run and the materials used, not a number picked in advance. The invoice follows three to five business days after the job is finished, and thirty days after that it falls due. Financing through GreenSky is available if paying in that window is difficult.
