Same-Day Water Damage Repair in Southeast Michigan
IICRC Certified Firm • Free inspection • All Insurance Accepted
Who does water damage repair in Southeast Michigan from the drying through the rebuild? Stained ceilings, buckled floors and drywall that crumbles at the bottom are what most callers describe. Book a free inspection at any hour, and a crew comes out in about an hour.
How our water damage repair works
It starts with a phone call at any hour and a free inspection, usually within about an hour. We look at what the water touched and what it ruined, which are not always the same thing.
Then we sort what can be dried in place from what has to be replaced. Solid wood framing, plaster and many hardwood floors can often be dried, while swollen particleboard, soaked insulation and drywall that has lost its shape usually can't.
Before any repair, the structure has to be dry. Drying equipment runs for a few days while we take daily readings, and nothing gets closed up until those readings say the framing behind it is ready.
Then the rebuild. Our reconstruction crew replaces drywall, insulation, trim, flooring and cabinets, matching what was there as closely as the materials allow. A project manager keeps the schedule and answers your questions along the way.
When the work is done, you and your insurer each receive our invoice and documentation, and we ask the insurer to pay us directly. Financing is available for the deductible, for anything the policy won't pay, or for upgrades you choose.

We found out we had a water leak from our bathroom tub when we brought our newborn home this past winter. It unfortunately needed to be a complete restoration which my husband and I had never gone through before. We were paired with Michelle as our project manager during this.

Response came out to our house when we had water issues with our attic and potential mold growth. They dispatched a project manager to came out same day and provided advice regarding insurance, let us know what to expect for the work, and sent a crew out the next day. Why homeowners call us for water damage repair
Rebuilding is half of what we do
Putting homes back together after a water loss is half of our business. Our reconstruction team handles the drywall, cabinets, tile and paint once the drying is done. Many homeowners want the whole job in one shop, and that is how we set it up.
We close walls only once they are dry
Drywall goes back up only after our moisture readings show the framing behind it is dry. Mold grows where moisture stays, so a wall closed over wet framing can bring the problem back. That is one reason we run the drying and the rebuild as one job.
A project manager runs your rebuild
A rebuild after a water loss can take weeks or months, and a project manager keeps it on track. You have one person to ask when a question comes up. The same company that dried the house already knows what was removed and why.
From a patched wall to a new kitchen
Some losses need one wall patched and painted. Others need a kitchen rebuilt down to the studs. We scope the repair to what the loss took out, and you see the same scope your insurance company sees.

Our ice maker water line started leaking and created a bigger mess than we realized. Our plumber recommended Response Flood & Fire for mitigation, and they were out the very next day drying out our kitchen floor and basement ceiling.
The crew that rebuilds after the water
The same team answers the phone and works the job. When you call Response Flood & Fire, you are talking to the people who will be standing in your building.

Water damage repair questions
Questions we get from our customers' and our answers.
Do you do the repairs yourselves?
Yes. Our own reconstruction crew handles the drywall, insulation, flooring, trim, cabinets and paint after the drying is done. If you'd rather hire your own contractor for the rebuild, that's your choice, and we'll share our drying records and scope with them.
How long does the repair take?
A patched and painted wall can take a few days. Replacing a kitchen or a whole floor can take weeks, mostly waiting on materials such as cabinets or flooring. We give you a realistic schedule once the scope is approved, and your project manager keeps you updated.
Can you match my existing floors and cabinets?
We try to match finishes, but older flooring, tile and cabinet styles are sometimes discontinued. When an exact match isn't available, we show you the closest options. Whether a policy pays to replace matching areas in nearby rooms depends on the policy, so ask your adjuster early.
Can I make upgrades while the walls are open?
Yes. Many homeowners use a rebuild to change a layout, pick a better floor or add insulation. Insurance usually pays to put back what was there, and you pay the difference for the upgrade. Financing is available if that difference is more than you want to cover at once.
Will insurance pay for the repairs as well as the drying?
When the water damage itself is covered, the repairs are usually part of the same claim as the drying. Your adjuster decides what is covered. We send them our scope, photos and moisture readings, and we go over that scope with you line by line before work starts.
