Why Shelby Township homeowners call us first for fire damage cleanup
An hour from the call to the driveway
Someone answers our phone at any hour, any day, all year. There is no answering service in between. Shelby Township addresses are normally reached within an hour of the call, and after a fire that hour counts. Smoke is still moving through the house while you wait.
The walkthrough costs you nothing
Having us walk the property with you costs nothing and commits you to nothing. We will tell you what we see while we are standing in it. We will not hand you a final figure at the door, because on a fire loss the true extent stays hidden until the surfaces are opened and washed down. A number quoted before that has been made up.
The claim is yours, the paperwork is ours
You file the claim, because the policy has your name on it. From there we document the loss for the carrier, photos, readings and scope, and you get the same paperwork at the same time, with every line visible. We handle the conversation with your adjuster and with any other trade working the property. If you are told the claim requires a preferred vendor, that is not correct, and we are glad to explain why.
Local, and we have been at this a long time
We are based in Rochester Hills, which puts Shelby Township well inside our normal range. Our founders worked in construction, contracting and cleaning long before this company existed. On a fire that experience matters, because reading the structure is most of the job. We say plainly which materials can be cleaned and which have to be removed.
How the township is built
Shelby Township built out over the seventies through the early two thousands, so much of it is two story colonials with open stairwells, great rooms, and attached garages holding two or three cars. Older pockets like Shelby Village go back further than that. An open plan gives smoke a clear run, and an open stairwell carries it straight to the second floor bedrooms. Attached garages matter too, because a fire that starts in the garage is already sharing a wall and a ceiling with the house.

We found out we had a water leak from our bathroom tub when we brought our newborn home this past winter. It unfortunately needed to be a complete restoration which my husband and I had never gone through before. We were paired with Michelle as our project manager/overseer during this. I have nothing but amazing...

I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with this company. We had significant flooding after a plumbing repair job went wildly wrong over the weekend. Our fire damage repair process in Shelby Township, MI
Step 1. The call comes to a person
Call at any hour and a person picks up. We ask what burned, where it started, and whether the fire department has cleared you to be in the building. Then we tell you what to do in the meantime. We are usually at a Shelby Township address in about an hour.
Step 2. A free walk through the house
We walk the house with you before we do anything else. It costs nothing and there is nothing to sign for it. We show you how far the smoke carried and which surfaces have taken heat. By the end of that walk you know what the job is.
Step 3. We secure the property
Fires leave houses open, and an open house keeps getting worse. We board up openings and cover what is exposed, then make the working area safe. This is the step that stops weather, animals and strangers from adding to the loss. Any equipment we set inside has been cleaned and decontaminated first.
Step 4. The building, and the water in it
We restore the building. Soot is acidic, so time works against you, and staining on porous material becomes permanent the longer it sits. Heat drives the smell into what it touches, and material that will not give it up has to come out. The water the fire department used is still in the floors and walls, and we treat that as the second half of the same job. Contents are outside what we do, and we will refer you to a contents company for those.
Step 5. Paperwork, and your carrier
We photograph and document as we go, so nothing on the invoice arrives without support. Pricing comes from a current Xactimate list. Our crews work a day at a time on site, typically four to eight hours and sometimes longer. The invoice follows completion by three to five business days, payment is due in thirty days, and GreenSky financing is available if it helps.

“Our restoration project took several months to complete. If you’re going through an insurance claim, be patient, as the process itself can take time. Dandre, who inspected the damage, prepared the estimate, and worked with our insurance company, was knowledgeable, professional, and very helpful throughout the process. Michelle, our project manager, was always responsive, caring, and worked hard to make sure everything was done right. The restoration work was completed by Leo and Augie, and they were outstanding. Leo replaced our tile, completed the plumbing work, repaired our closet organizer, and paid close attention to every detail. Augie did an excellent job painting. They were respectful, hardworking, and treated our home as if it were their own. Overall, although the process took time, the final result was excellent. Thank you, Dandre, Michelle, Leo, and Augie, for your professionalism, dedication, and quality work!”

Common questions about fire damage restoration in Shelby Township, MI
Questions we get from our customers' and our answers.
How soon can you get to a Shelby Township address after a fire?
A person answers our phone every hour of every day, and we are normally at a Shelby Township address in about an hour. That speed is not marketing. Smoke keeps traveling after the fire is out, and soot begins staining surfaces from the moment it settles. Getting there early is usually the difference between cleaning a material and replacing it.
Our Shelby Township colonial has an open floor plan. Does that change anything after a fire?
It does. An open great room and an open stairwell give smoke very little to stop it, so it reaches the upstairs bedrooms quickly and evenly. In an older, chopped up floor plan the smoke has doors and walls slowing it down. Here it does not. That usually means a larger area to clean, even when the fire itself stayed in one room.
The fire started in our Shelby Township garage. Is the house affected?
Almost always, yes. An attached garage shares a wall and usually a ceiling with the living space, and heat and smoke move through that assembly. Smoke also gets pulled into the house through the door between them and through the ductwork. We inspect the shared wall and the rooms above and beside the garage rather than assuming the damage stopped at the garage door.
Do you clean our belongings after a Shelby Township house fire?
No. We restore the structure, which is the building itself and its surfaces. Contents are a different trade, so cleaning, restoring or storing what was inside the house is not something we take on. If your belongings need that work we will refer you to a company that does it. We tell people this early so nobody is surprised later.
How does billing and insurance work on a Shelby Township fire claim?
Once a claim is open we send your carrier the documentation it needs, and you receive the same detail. You file the claim yourself, because the policy is yours, and from there we deal with your adjuster. We work to a current Xactimate list, so the figures are ones your adjuster works with every day. Three to five business days after completion the invoice goes out, and payment is due thirty days from then.
